When editing a user within the FreeNAS WebUI, I am unable to change any user settings (permissions, groups, email address). I can make the visual changes, but the "save" button stays disabled upon any change. The only thing that does enable the "save" button is changing the password. This issue continues across different browsers (Chrome, Firefox, Safari) on different OSs (Linux, Mac). If I do enable the "save" button by changing the password, any other changes do not apply, such as changing the permissions to 770 from the default 755.

Am I missing something else that needs to be done?
Is this normal?
Is this a bug?

I am new (again) to FreeNAS and this is my first real install.

There is not a System -> Information page that I can find.

Under Dashboard -> OS
OS Version:
FreeNAS-11.2-RC1
(Build Date: Oct 17, 2018 23:38)

CLI
root@nas[~]# cat /etc/version
FreeNAS-11.2-RC1 (c831a6a98)

I have the same problem FreeNAS-11.2-RC1 (Build Date: Oct 18, 2018 0:38). Save is greyed out. Re-enter password and Save lights up. (And then saves as expected.) Applies to all (two) users.

Please flush your browser cache and try again. If it still won't work, we probably have a problem.

I had already tried flushing the cache, in all browsers and all OSes, with no change in results or success. I think this is something we need to dig into deeper, but not sure where to start.

Similarly. And, no joy in browser which had never logged in to freenas before.

In that case, file a bug report and post the issue number here.

I have the same problem, you have to re-enter the password in orde to Save changes. It does work if you use the old GUI. This must be a bug and lets hope it will be fixed in the final release.

Happening again in FreeNAS-11.3-U3.

And for some unknown reason after going back and forth 400 times... its working now.

On the login screen, click the "Legacy Web Interface" button.

The legacy interface only exists on 11.2 and below. 11.3 eliminated the legacy login.

11.2-RC1 is no longer relevant, so I'm closing this thread.
