Hello folks,

I upgraded from 9.10.2-U6 to 11.0-U3 on the 18th September and subsequently rolled forward to 11.0-U4 on the 8th October. Somewhere between these points I upgraded a sabnzbd jail from 2.2.1 to 2.3.0.

I decided to roll back to 9.10.2-U6 this afternoon by setting it active and rebooting which was successful. However, even though the sabnzbd jail is running the 2.3.0 pbi, the installed plugins list shows 2.2.1 and offers me an update......I can see from the general plugins list that a new sabnzbd jail would result in a 2.3.0 pbi.

I assume that as I have changed boot, the FreeNAS "plugins_plugins" table is as it was at the time that 9.10.2-U4/6 was active, i.e. it reflects the pbi for 2.2.1, not 2.3.0 - how could it possibly know unless it was told as part of the switch.....

So, the question is, what do I do? Wait for 2.3.1 or greater of the sabnzbd plugin, or do some behind the scenes tinkering?

As an aside, the reason for the downgrade was that I have experienced an increased number of FreeNAS 3am-ish reboots since the upgrade to 11.0-U4 and decided that as I had been stable between 18th September and 8th October, I would roll back to 9.10.2-U6 to prove a theory (I know: sledgehammer/nut).

Any advise would be greatly appreciated.

Rowland.

I'd be more curious about what is causing the reboots... Anything in /var/log/messages around that time?

Thanks - I'd already looked in messages but the first message indicating any issue is the "syslog next gen" startup message:

I've since rolled forward to 11.0-U4 by setting it active and rebooting and have had no 3am reboots for 6 days now. Murphy's law!

If the system remains stable for another week, I'll put it down to a ghost in the machine and possibly consider performing a config backup, fresh 11.0-U4 install and ZFS import at some point - I have a pair of spare 32GB USB flash drives to cover the eventuallity of boot drive failure.....

ATB,
Rowland.
