уменьшился размер диска

Добрый день,

На BackupArray стоят 4 х 3 ТБ WD Greens. Покупал их уже не новыми, и у меня они еще 2,5 года отвертелись. В общем, ID 9 Power On Hours у всех под 50 тысяч часов. Работали ОК, потом сбой какой-то, может после обновления или после отключения питания, уже не помню, система не грузится и выдает ошибку вот такую:

Сервер для бэкапа, оригиналы на другой машине, так что решил просто переустановить систему на флешку и пересобрать пул. Флешку переписал с 11.2-U7, грузится ОК. Однако, при выборе дисков в Pool/Add три распознаются как 2.73 TiB, а один как 1.87 TiB... Wipe не помогает. Выполняется, но размер не меняется. Смотрел Акронисом, инсталятором Win 10, програмой GParted, - везде все диски выглядят как неразмеченные с теми же объемами. Таблицу разделов удалить нельзя так как ее нет. Диски уже выходят из строя, везде pending сектора есть, менять конечно надо, но как диск мог "ужаться" до 2 ТБ?? И как его вернуть к изначальному размеру? Писал в американский форум, там настоятельно предположили проблему с самим диском и направили к базовому траблшутингу. Но интересно понять что именно случилось то?

Когда-то на заре SSD у меня был экземпляр, который я запилил до того, что он похудел на несколько мегабайт, видать исчерпал резерв запасных секторов. Не знаю применимо ли это к HDD, но я уже несколько раз в последнее время слышал он производителей винчестеров, что выход из строя части головок не должен значить выход из строя всего диска -- при частичном отказе должен уменьшаться объем. Но это звучало больше как перспектива, а не дела минувших дней. А что говорит `camcontrol identify adaX`? Может винту с чего-то приснилась активация Host Protected Area или что-то вроде?

Ну собственно я похоже угадал: "Host Protected Area (HPA) yes yes 3907073134/5860533168".
Попробуй `camcontrol hpa -qPy -s 5860533168 ada1`.

Не знаю. Само не должно. Если только у тебя не какой-то хитрый BIOS/RAID, делающий странное.

Перезагрузился, можно теперь pool собирать:

При возникновении сбоев я поменял не только системную флешку, но и материнскую плату (и старая и новая Gigabyte). В новой была батарейка севшая вноль. Может быть это вызвало какие-то проблемы с биосом и плата решила выделить область для его сохранения. Хотя 1 террабайт наверное многовато для такой задачи :) Тогда остается вариант что диск просто сыпется и ОС изолировала эти области...

теперь на ada0 ругается:

Pool не собирается так как у ada0 размеры Value/Vendor - 5860531055/5860533168, а у всех остальных 5860533168/5860533168

`camcontrol hpa` может не работать более одного раза за включение питания. Попробуй выключить/включить. Но это не объясняет что вообще там происходит.

Да, перегрузился со сбросом питания, и пул собрался ОК. Спасибо за помощь! Так же прогнал лонг тест на всех 4 дисках. Вот вывод smartctl -a

Load_Cycle_Count
парковка частая у них,в остальном диски как диски 50к часов это не предел, у меня есть и поболее
парковки убивают бошки

в остальном диски в порядке, НО если есть время прогнать Victoria под DOS было б не лишним
и отключить паркуовку каждые 15-30 сек или выставить "правильный" таймер, но лучше отключить и передать это ОС
утилита под DOS wdidle3

у меня вот герой есть, сервера его уже не берут, там GSensor сработал, а тут ничего работает

Спасибо за советы, CrashX. Я запускал утилиту wdidle3 когда устанавливал диски впервые чтобы отключить парковку. Сейчас на двух дисках
Load_Cycle_Count под 150 000, в то время как на двух других около 50 000. Надо повторить и проверить. Сейчас прогоняю badblocks в 3 прохода чтобы встряхнуть диски. Потом посмотрю smartctl output. Сделаю снова wdidle3. Ну и тогда надо решать, менять их или оставить пока. Если менять, то минимум на 6-ки, если брать 3 шт б/у, а лучше 4 шт чтобы RaidZ2 сделать, то это 20-25 тыс руб затрат.

Load_Cycle_Count примерно должен быть равен количеству запусков PowerOn +/- 10%

если возможно поставить больше дисков то лучше
6x4Tb чем 4x6Tb
