Hi

I have some problems finding the right way to share a lot of data I have put on my Freenas system from an old Apple Mac OS X Server with HFS+ formatting.
I have transferred the data using rsync using checksum without any problems.

Now I would like to share the data using SMB to both Windows and Mac OS X clients, but a lot of the files are missing on the sharepoints, but when I navigate on the freenas box I can see the files are there. I have narrowed the problem down to characters like æ,ø or å.

Here are my auxiliary parameters:
mangled names=no
ea support = no
machine password timeout = 0
store dos attributes = no
map archive = no
map hidden = no
map readonly = no
map system = no
read raw = yes
write raw = yes

DOS charset:
CP850
UNIX charset:
UTF-8

What am I doing wrong? Why are folders disappearing when the folder or file have a æ,ø or å in them?

do you need any other info, then let me know?

Hi

It is FreeNAS-9.10.2-U2 (e1497f2).

As additional info I have changed the UNIX charset to ISO-8859-1 and now I see the files and folders, but the names are obscure.

I.e:
error
14_Fejl_løsning
should be:
14_Fejl_læsning

Works fine for me with defaults. It may have been caused by OS X.

Hi again

I think it will work for new files but I need it to work for the old ones I have transferred.
Is you can see in the attachment then the directory 14_Fejl_løsning is spelled correct in the web gui Shell, but connected through ssh is it not.
