Guide: How to Build FreeNAS (Part 2: Install and Build FreeNAS)

Hi, All.

I'm trying my first FreeNAS build and (after installing a FreeBSD VM) followed these instructions. Everything went well up to the 'sh build/do_build.sh' step which eventually failed as follows:

rm -f ctladm ctladm.o util.o ctl_util.o ctl_scsi_all.o
rm -f .depend GPATH GRTAGS GSYMS GTAGS
===> usr.sbin/ctld (cleandir)
cd: /usr/local/freenas/trunk/FreeBSD/src/usr.sbin/ctld: No such file or directory

Did I miss something?

Which instructions? Those on the first page of this thread (from 2011)? Those are outdated, SVN wasn't updated since March. You need to get the FreeNAS source from here: https://github.com/freenas/freenas

Yeah, I recently followed the beginning of this guide to set up freebsd, then followed the github guide to finish. I also ended up with very strange errors with 9.2-release ports access. or stable. or 9. with some attention and browsing the repository and stuff I could get it all installed. I think my first build is going well now. 20/187. Trying to get some ipfw action
