Boot Linux Guest VM Into Single User?

Anyone know how I can boot a linux guest VM into single user (recovery) mode? The boot method is UEFI.

Running TrueNAS Core latest version.

It doesn't come up with GRUB or something equivalent?

No. I just starts to boot immediately, at least as far as I can see via VNC. Am I doing something wrong? Should I be using some other console method?

So I got passed the need for single user by connecting the virtual disk to a different vm.

Now I am trying to figure out the best way to resize the filesystem, as it was totally out of space.

Got that now... Expand the zvol, then growpart, lvextend, and resize2fs
