Upgrade v12 to v13

I am still on TrueNAS 12-U8.1 and am considering upgrading to TrueNAS 13. If upgrading via the upgrade tar file, do I first need to upgrade to the RELEASE version and then to U4, or can I go directly to U4?

I am trying to figure out if there are any major known bugs that have not yet been fixed. However, when I try to search Jira for the tag fix version, it wants me to login, and once I log in, I can no longer access the tickets. This used to work and I don't have time to fix it. So if any one has a link or listing to unfixed bugs, please let me know.

Thank you.

@sretalla Thank you for the answer on the upgrade path.

Regarding the unfixed bugs, I saw the release notes but from these it was not immediately clear if the can for any bigger remaining issues was kicked down the road until U5. If there is a reason to hold my breath a little longer, then I am happy to do that.

Check the known issues table at the bottom of that page... Nothing serious in my opinion.

Thanks for the pointer. These do not seem major problems for my environment, and given the release numbers given in the "resolved in" column, most of these should already be fixed.

I assume that if I really hate the v13, then I can revert to the v12 boot environment. In this case, do I have to reload my v12 configuration file?

No, the v12 config is preserved with the v12 boot environment.
