Today is the 16th and it was successfully delivered..... its a 9lb healthy boy with a good set of lungs and high parental expectations .

Is there any way to change updates train from NIGHTLIES to ALPHA ? I've tried to upload manual update file with the UI, it throws an error "middlewared.service_exception.CallError: [EFAULT] Unable to downgrade from 21.02-MASTER-20210215-192917 to 21.02-ALPHA.1".
I've also tried with the cli doesn't seem to run well.

Anyway thank you for your amazing work !

I have been on nightly updates up until now. Have only tested some functionality and played around with KVM and containers. Want to start setting up some containers and maybe a VM or two. Will it be best to reinstall with the new Alpha, or stick with the nightly?

The nightly is always more feature complete than the ALPHA is, though maybe less stable.
If it is just for testing: stay nightly
If it's also for home-production use: use alpha.

I have multiple containers on another box for home production. The plan is to migrate them to the TrueNAS server, when I find out how to mount external NFS shares and how to install Hassos (Homeassistant).

Same here: one production box, one test box. production one runs ALPHA, Test one runs nightly.

Democratic CSI is rather solid for containers. O:)

Then I need to need to learn how to use it, thanks :)

My home production box now runs Ubuntu 20.04, and all my storage are on a Synology DS1813+

ohh... yeah...
Without Helm experience that gets slightly harder...

That being said afaik Helm should support NFS mounts by default... But then again: you need to know helm to use it...

Is there any updated release plan?

Hi Alex,

High level plan:

21.02 is current software for most users - still alpha
21.04 nightlies is for developers and testers and available.
21.04 is planned before end of month - last alpha. Mostly feature complete, but still some UI work to be done.
21.06 is planned to be first BETA grade release - KVM, Kubernetes, SMB, NFS, iSCSI, scale-out

Welcome to the forum.
Yes.
And as a great introduction to this forum, I'll let you find this one out on yourself... A great forum hazing :D
I haven't posted it without looking for it first. But seems I am to dumb to find it. Within this "Release Plan" community thread it isn't. In the Blog I couldn't find it either. If you could point me to it that would be great :)

@morganL: Thanks!

Greetings, Alex

After dealing for almost for a week trying recover TrueNAS Core 12.0-U2.1 described here , gave up and installed TrueNAS Scale 21.02-ALPHA.1.

Was able to recover my ZFS pool and data in just under an hour, amazing! And it does not crash for whole day comparing to FreeBSD based counterpart TrueNAS Core 12.0-U2.1. Wow!

Thank you! Have to admit that I didn't look at the Release Notes for the schedule. Looking forward to the next release. Pretty happy with the current nightlys.

The TrueNAS SCALE 21.04 version is scheduled for Thursday. There will be a a more informative announcement then.

The nightly version tonight will be "exactly" the same if you want to start testing early.

Isn't it possible to update ALPHA to BETA? Or it should be a completely new installation?
