In the latest 9.3 update, they closed the issue report on this, not sure if they upgraded it or still the same and just closed the issue out.

They closed the issue because it was decided that p16 is definitively better than any other version currently. Any thoughts of later versions being acceptable as proposed by LSI were dismissed for now.

Sorry for the simple question but how do I go about getting the firmware version 16 for the 2308. The ftp link crashes in firefox and I tried filezilla with no luck either. I am new to this but my oh my is it hard. Is the ftp server simply down with no other alternative location. I appreciate any help.

I will answer my own question. The server was down and everything worked fine this morning. Not impressed with Supermicro, but I did get the firmware flash to work.
